Design your tape fence project

INSTALLATION TIPS & INFO

Technical Step-by-Step Guide

1/ TAPE (Calculation of Length Required)
    – Measure the length of fence to be electrified (perimeter + internal separators):

    – Determine the number of rows of tape desired:

    – Multiply total length by number of rows to calculate the total tape length required:

2/ POSTS (Determination of Number and Type)
    – Count the number of Wooden, Metal and Fibreglass posts plus Trees to be connected.
    – Determine how many are straight in-line posts

    vs. tension posts

(required for corners, curves gateposts and line ends), as the accessories are different:

    Total All Posts

    In-Line Posts

    Tension Posts

    – Provide the average distance between posts (min. 8ft – max 16ft.):

(We recommend reducing spacing to as close as 8 ft. in very windy areas.)

3/ GATES (Assessment of Number, Type and Locations to Install)
It is better to minimize the number of tape cuts, installing (if possible) the gates at corners rather than in line.
This saves one tension post on each side of each gate.

    HORSEGUARD TAPE GATE REQUIREMENTS

    – Determine how many gates are straight in-line versus corner locations
    – Number of inline HorseGuard tape gates to be built:

    – Number of corner HorseGuard tape gates to be built:

EXISTING METAL OR WOODEN GATE REQUIREMENTS

    – Determine how many gates are straight in-line versus corner locations
    – Number of EXISTING in-line gates:

    – Number of EXISTING corner gates:

    – Size of EXISTING gates:

4/ CABLES (Calculation of Cable Length)
    CABLE REQUIREMENTS

We will calculate your total requirements based on your inputs above plus:
    – the distance from your charger to the fence (in feet):

    PROVINCE (required)

Please provide a small sketch indicating: distances, tension rod positions, gates (indicating new or existing), location of energizer. We thank you in advance for providing this visual information resource that will aid in the preparation and precision of your quote.
